Of late, I have been receiving messages and pings whenever I post a picture on FB.
"Shilpa!! What ya! You have lost so much weight after going to Dubai! How ya? What's your secret ya?"
To which I usually retort with an air of I-know-right!!
"Oh well! You know ya! It takes a lot of discipline to loose weight! I gym! I intake good balanced diet etc etc!!" (Everything I read in this month's Cosmo:P)
Followed by an audience of
"Aww…. Way to go girl! You are so good; we really wish that we could be like you!" (Maybe not these exact words but the feeling you know!)
And so I decided to share my little secret with all of you (I know! I know! You all can thank me! I am very generous person and all).
Shilpa's Secret Weight Loss Programme
Warm up
Every morning I wake up 30 minutes before the office starts and every morning I wish I was a witch like Samantha in Bewitched:), I snap my fingers and I get dressed, I snap my fingers and breakfast is ready, I snap my fingers and I am at work, I snap… oh well you get the general idea (Geezzz.. use your imagination for once guys). Since I am not a witch, every morning there is mayhem in the apartment! I run helter skelther from bedroom to bathroom! From bathroom to bedroom! From bedroom to kitchen! From kitchen to bedroom! I am here there everywhere! (I do the exact same swwossshhh movements of Jim Carrey in Mask except that I manage the speed without a mask which makes me a better super heroine). This serves a good warm up! Honest!
Running
The closest metro station is 100 meters away. And I do a 100 meters dash to the tube station at such speed that I would make Usain Bolt's speed seem like a dawdle!
Long Jump
I arrive at the tube station! I am already late and cannot afford to miss the moving train as another 5 min would make my boss really really really (I mean really really really…) mad. I hear the "Albabua Batubla" - means the doors are closing in Arabic! Another thing about me is my excellent cognitive abilities of picking up languages real fast you know! Especially when you don't know what it means and you are standing close to the door and your skirt gets wedged at a very uncompromising position between the closing doors! You pick up the language real fast! I tell ya! Anyway I will share my cognitive abilities yet another day! And so I see the moving metro and I make a double arm style horizontal impulse long jump into the tube! So good that I would give Mike Powell a complex! I should totally register at the Olympics this year!
Dance
Dance is not only a good hobby but is also an excellent way to keep fit! After a long day at work, it particularly serves as a stress buster to let yourself loose and step up to Sheela ki Jawani! It's a different thing that your neighbors don't appreciate art and talent! But they are like that you know! They don't appreciate my mid night kathak practice either nor my bharatnatyam dance to ra ra every now and then!
Diet
My diet is very well balanced! Yip! Everyday I cook fresh food consisting of a portion of meat (usually chicken), yellow dal and brown rice. It's generally so good, that I feel full even before I eat!!! So, I land up alternating between Dal Atta Maggie (balanced ma balanced) and K2 Challenge breakfast cereal (for weight conscious you know). And my house keeping guy is the beneficiary of all the freshly cooked food (Well! Ya! It's cooked fresh; maybe he gets it only the next day but still). But I can assure you, he is also losing a lot of weight!
Now my little secret is out!
